Zhejiang University
academicZhejiang University's AI output spans an unusually wide institutional map. Huajun Chen's ZJUNLP + OpenKG group is the knowledge and AI-for-science anchor: the de-facto knowledge-editing framework EasyEdit, the OceanGPT ocean-science LLM, the InstructCell single-cell copilot, and the Knowledge Circuits / LightThinker/LightMem interpretability-and-efficiency line, much of it driven by Ningyu Zhang.
Xiaowei Zhou's zju3dv (State Key Lab of CAD&CG) owns the 3D/4D reconstruction line — 4K4D, FreeTimeGS, Street Gaussians — a heavily reused base for volumetric video and driving-scene reconstruction. The State Key Lab of Brain-Machine Intelligence (Gang Pan) builds the Darwin neuromorphic chip line, culminating in the Darwin Monkey macaque-scale neuromorphic computer; the Institute of Computing Innovation ships the table-native TableGPT2; and Chunhua Shen anchors vision foundation models (detection, segmentation, depth/pose).
Attribution notes: DeepSeek recruits heavily from ZJU — founder Liang Wenfeng holds BEng+MEng degrees from Zhejiang — but DeepSeek models are not ZJU artifacts; only ZJU's DeepSeek-R1-Safe safety post-training (with Huawei, end-to-end on Ascend chips) is university work. Portrait-animation models occasionally co-listing ZJU authors (EchoMimic, EMO) are Alibaba/Ant-led and excluded here.
