Wang Zhongyuan (王仲远)

Appointed BAAI Director in February 2024, succeeding Huang Tiejun. Previously Technical VP at Kuaishou (overseeing 5 departments), Senior Director at Meituan (built Meituan Brain, the world's largest food/entertainment knowledge graph), and Research Scientist at Facebook (built one of Facebook's most important NLP production services for entity linking). Started at Microsoft Research Asia, ranked #1 among all candidates in his intake interviews.

All degrees from Renmin University of China (BS/MS/PhD in CS). At BAAI, led the release of the Emu3 native multimodal world model and the WuJie (无界) series of foundation models. Declared "Embodied AI" as BAAI's pivotal 2025 theme. ~11,300 citations. ICDE 2015 Best Paper Award. MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 (2018).
