From-scratch open multilingual LLM covering all 24 EU official languages plus more. EuroLLM-9B (2025-06) was the strongest open European-made LLM at its size at release; EuroLLM-22B (2026-02) scales the recipe to 35 languages with strong reasoning, instruction-following, and translation. Joint effort led by Unbabel / IST Lisbon — Edinburgh is a co-development partner, not the owner; filed here as Edinburgh's share of a Lisbon-led collaboration.
