Skywork AI PTE. LTD. (UEN 202124460H) is incorporated in Singapore (July 2021), headquartered at 2 Science Park Drive. It originated from the merger of Kunlun Tech's (SZSE: 300418) subsidiary Star Group with Singularity AI (acquired for $160M). While Kunlun Tech is a Chinese-listed company, Skywork AI operates as a Singapore entity with deep local ties: research head Yan Shuicheng (AAAI/ACM/IEEE Fellow, 105K+ citations) was recruited from Singapore's Sea Group, and the lab maintains partnerships with NUS and NTU through Singapore's EDB talent program. Co-CEO Zhou Yahui is Kunlun's founder. Valued at ~$2B (Mar 2025), with CNY 200M capital injection from Kunlun in Aug 2025.

Skywork's frontier LLM research began with Skywork-13B (Oct 2023, 3.2T tokens) and Skywork-MoE (146B, upcycled from 13B). The lab then pivoted to post-training innovation: Skywork-Reward topped RewardBench with only 80K preference pairs, and the R1V series (R1V through R1V4) pioneered open multimodal reasoning with visual chain-of-thought. Skywork-OR1 (32B) outperforms DeepSeek-R1 and Qwen3-32B on math benchmarks.

Skywork is also prolific in video generation (SkyReels series, Matrix-Game world models) and multimodal image composition (UniPic). Their Skywork Super Agents platform scored #1 on the GAIA benchmark (82.42), beating OpenAI Deep Research.
