Motif Technologies

Motif Technologies is a South Korean (Seoul) AI foundation-model startup, spun out of GPU/infrastructure-software company Moreh in February 2025. It pairs founder-CEO Junghwan Lim's model-design work with Moreh's training-stack optimization to build full-stack, from-scratch Korean-and-English LLMs — the Motif family.

Motif was selected as an elite team in Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT "Independent AI Foundation Model" program (Feb 2026) and is co-developing a 300B+-parameter reasoning LLM with 17 partners including Seoul National University and KAIST. It raised a ~KRW 24B (~$16.6M) Series B in mid-2026. Its Motif 3 is the highest-scoring Korean model on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index.
