Meituan
publicMeituan (HKG: 3690) is China's largest on-demand services platform, founded in 2010 by Wang Xing. Originally a Groupon-style deals platform, Meituan evolved into a super-app dominating food delivery, hotel bookings, ride-hailing, and grocery commerce with over 690 million annual transacting users. The company is publicly traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with a market cap exceeding $100B.
Meituan's AI research is driven by the Meituan AI Lab, AutoML Team, and LongCat Team. The LongCat Team (led by Xunliang Cai) produces the LongCat trillion-parameter MoE model series, Meituan's flagship foundation model powering internal applications. LongCat-Flash-Thinking represents Meituan's push into reasoning models.
The company's "Super Brain" intelligent dispatch system is among the world's most complex real-time optimization engines, performing 2.9 billion route calculations per hour to coordinate millions of delivery riders. Meituan also operates autonomous delivery at scale, including delivery drones approved for commercial routes in Shenzhen and L4 autonomous ground robots deployed across multiple cities. AI powers nearly every aspect of the platform, from restaurant recommendation to dynamic pricing to quality control.
Meituan is also a strategic investor in Chinese frontier labs through its venture arm Long-Z Investments (formerly DragonBall / Longzhu Capital, 龙珠资本), which in May 2026 led a ~$2B round in Moonshot AI at a $20B valuation, with participation from China Mobile and CITIC Private Equity.
